Description
This course is intended to provide an overview of the historical development, major components, functions, and current and future trends of the hospitality and tourism industry.

“Learning Outcomes”
  • Explain the nature, definitions, origins, and evolution of hospitality and tourism
  • Compare and Contrast the importance of tourism in developed and developing countries.
  • Compare and Contrast the difference between positive and negative Social/Cultural, Economic, and Environmental impacts of tourism;
  • Assess the major global forces that are shaping future tourism;
  • Name competencies in oral and written presentations, teamwork, and the ability to critically evaluate others’ viewpoints.
