HOSP 432 - Hospitality Management Internship Credits: 3
Description This course allows students to accumulate professional experience that will enhance the student’s academic program and career objectives through experiential education engaging the student in a unique multilateral partnership between an approved hospitality partner, the university, and the student. The learning experience will be guided by a contract outlining specific work-related experiences and academic components designed to enhance the student’s knowledge. Students are required to engage in a series of regularly scheduled reflection and learning sessions conducted by faculty with the support of industry leaders.

- Discuss possible careers related to their major
- Identify the most desirable of the possible careers and explore them further through research and discussions with specialist faculty and/or former/current students
- Demonstrate the steps needed to facilitate a successful transition from student to professional through activities/presentations on work ethics and professionalism
- Develop resiliency through the ability to manage change and create self-confidence
